Where do I install the aircraft?

Install the aircraft directly into your MSFS Community folder.  Simply drop the entire product folder (e.g., ras-zippysport) inside the Community directory, restart the simulator, and the aircraft will appear in your hangar.

I don’t know where my Community folder is — how do I find it?

Accepted Answer

For 2020 installations via Windows Store or Game Pass, navigate to:

C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community​

If 2020 installed through Steam, the path is generally:

C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community

For 2024 installations via Windows Store or Game Pass, navigate to:

C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community​

If 2024 is installed through Steam, the path is generally:

C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\Community

Each aircraft page clearly lists whether it is 2020 only, 2024 only, or compatible with both.

Do I need to delete old versions before installing an update?

Accepted Answer

Yes.
For the cleanest experience, remove the previous version of the aircraft from your Community folder before installing an update. This prevents old files from clashing with new ones and ensures the update loads correctly.

Question 5

How do I run the installer and point it to the Community folder?

Accepted Answer

If your product uses an installer, simply launch the .exe file and choose Browse when prompted for an installation directory.  Select your Community folder, confirm the path, and the installer will handle the rest.
